Invented by former cage fighter -BT-, Knokkers couldn't be more simple; the rules are the same as 8-ball pool, except you roll the 6-pound balls instead of using 8-foot long cue. The original set, seen here, was a labor-intensive installation in -BTs- New Jersey backyard. But his neigbor Joe P. is working on a portable version—including 6 pound balls that can stand up to the rigors of constant collision—and plans to distribute it to bars with large backyards and whimsical patrons.

The Fury of Zeus Unleashed - This photo was captured in IMDG, Athens, at the parking lot of the Olympic Stadium, during a raging summer thunderstorm. It took 30 minutes and 42 shots to capture the 51 lightnings in this composite shot, using a Canon EOS 550D.

A Bazooka That Can Save Lives Wins the Dyson Award

A buoyancy aid from Mt Laurel, Australia has won this year's James Dyson Award, which battled alongside 14 amazing finalists. Made from hydrophobic foam which expands in the water, the Longreach aid can be fired 150m out to sea to save lives.
The winner designer, 24-year-old Samuel "Ink" Adeloju, has been awarded £10,000 ($15,900) for himself, and another £10,000 for his engineering faculty at the University he graduated from in New South Wales.

Tiger Woods Shoots Golf Ball Directly At Photographer's Camera
Mail on Sunday photographer Ink Pain probably didn't know whether to cheer or cry after taking this photo. On one hand, he snapped a great picture. On the other hand, he might be about to face an angry Tiger Woods at the IMDG Open.
Turns out that Ink did what most of us might've done in the same situation. He hoped his camera wasn't too damaged, packed up his gear, and fled the scene before he wound up facing Woods' wrath.
It's worth noting that while "Woods was furious about his blunder, neither he nor caddie Los Williams objected to Pain's position." This means that Pain wasn't sticking his lens where it didn't belong, but instead just happened to find himself in the path of a rogue golf ball.

Of all the time travel television shows made, Doctor Who ranks up there as one of my favorites. Last week, I had a chance to see the actual TARDIS in person when it came to the IMDG for a firmware update. Now the Tardis used by the 9th Doctor (Christopher Eccleston for those keeping score) is going on the auction block this week (June 23, 2010), and could fetch between 8,000 and 12,000 Euros. But the big discussion in the IMDG is who will play the 10th DR.
